And this,  is Tom (T.W) He also likes to design and build just about anything that's unique

This Tom took a more roundabout path to his vocation. Originally wanting to major in photography, his father told him to always have something to fall back on that you enjoy doing and do it well.

And last but not least  this is also Tom (Wyatt) He  likes to build sand castles!

Wyatt is very inquisitive around the work shop and helps his Pop Pops with colorful thoughts of grandeur!

Thomas Nickerson Custom Woodworking & Design

This is Tom (Thomas) He likes to build custom cabinetry

Thomas started this family cycle of woodworkers in 1964.  It was then that he decided he wanted his new born son to be proud of his Father and work beside him and learn from him.

This, too, is Tom (Tommy) He also likes to design and build custom woodworks of all types

Tom's path to becoming a cabinet maker was as direct as they come.  When he was 8 years old, he told his Father that he wanted to be the best Carpenter in the world.

"a doctor can bury his mistakes, but an architect can only advise his client to plant vines."

EOur Family History

Thomas (Founder) started building sets for the Drama club in high school, upon graduating in 1956 he started working with R & O cabinets of Dover, DE. Crafting his skills for 2 years, he then started working with Wilber Myers expanding to all aspects of carpentry and woodwork. He started working for himself in 1964, constructing 1000’s of homes, never losing the passion for the intricate workworking projects. He had built and designed cabinets and custom stairways in numerous houses he constructed. The cabinets were constructed on site or in his garage at home, which was never used for storing vehicles it was always known as the shop. In 1998 construction of a 40’ x 80’ stand alone shop was completed, and is the current home (shop) of the business. His son Tommy started helping in 1972 learning the proper end of a broom to use where the debris was stored, progressing to carrying lumber and some nailing, but eventually he earned the right to work along side all the other dozens of workers.

Today the Nickerson generations of woodwokers continue to work side by side.
